The current RTR 310 is quick and well built, but two owners I spoke to at a Hosur meet complained about heat in stop-start traffic and a throttle that felt jumpy in rain mode. TVS has been quietly reworking the fuelling maps, and an updated model with better low-speed manners is expected before the year closes.

Do not expect more power. Expect a bike that behaves properly at 20 km/h in second gear, which honestly matters more for the way most of us ride.

If you already own one, the interesting question is whether the new map reaches your bike through a dealer flash. TVS has done free ECU updates before on the RR 310, so it is not unreasonable to ask. Put it in writing at the service desk and keep the job card.

For anyone shopping now, the used market is where this gets useful. A pre-update RTR 310 with the older map will lose a bit of value once the new one is on the floor, which is exactly when a patient buyer gets a good deal on a two-year-old bike with warranty left.
