How the EMI is calculated

The formula is EMI = P × r × (1+r)^n / ((1+r)^n − 1), where P is the loan amount, r is the monthly interest rate and n is the number of months. A longer tenure lowers the EMI but increases total interest significantly.

Getting a better rate

Dealer finance is convenient but rarely cheapest. A pre-approved bank or NBFC offer typically saves 1-2 percentage points. Keep the tenure at 24-36 months where possible, and always check processing fees of ₹1,500-3,000 before signing.
