Hero Xpulse 300 4V

A bigger Xpulse is the one I am most curious about

Expected launch
Early 2027
Likely on-road price
₹2.35 – 2.55 lakh on-road

Expected key specifications

Engine~300cc oil-cooled single
Expected power~26–29 BHP
BrakingDual-channel ABS with rear cut-off
Expected mileage~33–36 kmpl

These numbers are our estimates from dealer talk and spy shots, not company-confirmed specs.

I have ridden the 210 on gravel in Kumaon and the only real complaint was the engine running out of breath on long climbs with luggage. A 300cc single with the same 21-inch front wheel and the same soft, forgiving suspension would fix that without ruining what makes the bike likeable.

Hero has been showing a 300cc platform at expos for a while now, so this is not a rumour built from nothing. The question is weight. Cross 180 kg and it stops being the bike you can pick up alone on a trail, which is the whole point of an Xpulse.

The other thing I want Hero to leave alone is the price gap. The Xpulse works because it costs less than everything that looks like it. Push a 300 into Himalayan territory and buyers will simply take the Royal Enfield, badge and all. Around ₹2.4 lakh on road, it stays the sensible first adventure bike. At ₹2.8 lakh it becomes a hard sell.

Service is the quiet advantage here. Hero has a workshop in towns where the nearest RE service centre is three hours away, and if you actually ride to remote places, that matters more than a spec sheet ever will.

What we expect vs what we wish for

What we expect

  • The 21-inch front wheel carried over
  • Long-travel, forgiving suspension like the 210
  • Six-speed gearbox for highway cruising
  • Hero's wide small-town service reach

What we wish for

  • Kerb weight kept under 175 kg
  • A factory low-seat option for shorter riders
  • Tubeless spoked rims as standard
  • Price held well under Himalayan territory

Watch for: Seat height. Anything above 830 mm and shorter riders will need the low-seat option.

What it will be up against

  • Royal Enfield Himalayan 450
  • KTM 250 Adventure
  • Yezdi Adventure
  • BMW G 310 GS

Frequently asked questions

When will the Hero Xpulse 300 4V launch?

Early 2027 is our expectation. Hero has shown the platform publicly, but no launch date has been confirmed.

What price should I budget for?

Plan for ₹2.35 to ₹2.55 lakh on road. Anything above that and the Himalayan 450 becomes a straight competitor.

Is it good for a first adventure bike?

If Hero keeps the weight near 170 kg and the seat under 830 mm, yes. Those two numbers matter more than power for a first ADV.

How does it compare with the Xpulse 210?

The 210 is fine for city and light trails. The 300 should be the one you buy if you regularly ride two-up with luggage on long climbs.
